Williams, Dorr, Witherow and Biondo Take Superbucks Winner's Checks

AA Autosalvage Superbucks Weekend contested this weekend in Atco, NJ saw Gary Williams defeat Steve Sisko in the Thursday $10,000 to win warm-up race. Sneaky Pete Biondo walked away with a win and runner-up, while Rich Dorr and Steve Witherow won the other 2 $25,000 races.

Want to see how the Tournament of Champions is truly designed to work? Look no further than Top Sportsman driver Mike Koontz.
Koontz, of Warrenton, Va., found himself in the tournament after winning a TOC qualifier at Richmond Dragway during the early portion of the 2009 season and a little over a year later he was hoisting his first career championship Ironman after taking out some of the best in the business at Rockingham Dragway last month.

Donny Urban, also known as “Hollywood” by his racing peers, has everything a driver could want – a cool nickname, a fast car and, after Rockingham, the title of IHRA World Champion.
Urban, from Pittsboro, N.C., traveled to Rockingham Dragway for the ’09 Tournament of Champions with hopes of adding a World Championship to his racing resume and did just that thanks to a consistent day on the tree and a little luck thrown in along the way.

To Bo Upton and his family, he was already a champion before he ever left the house – at least according to his son.
Days before Upton packed up and headed north to Rockingham Dragway for the running of the Tournament of Champions earlier this month, his son made a prediction that proved remarkably accurate. While getting his children ready for school the day before the race, Upton’s youngest son came running into the room screaming “daddy, daddy – you are a world champion.”

In the pits grown men cried and others wandered aimlessly trying to find the next person to pull in for a celebratory hug. It was a year’s worth of emotion all spilled out at once and it all took place at Rockingham Dragway Friday evening.
Lilley lands win for Angel Racing

Nathan Lilley of Camden showcased his adept drag racing abilities once again Saturday night at Northeast Dragway by landing another Top Eliminator win as a "hired gun" driver.
23 year-old Lilley has racing fuel running deep in his veins and regularly demonstrates his skills whether driving his own race car or that of a long list of willing car owners.
Griggs win with support from Casper

Wikipedia defines friendship as "the cooperative and supportive relationship between two or more people". It could easily include a photo of Bobby Griggs and Jesse Casper.
Griggs, of Outta Pocket Racing fought his way to the Modified class winner's circle Saturday at Northeast Dragway and ended a two-year winless streak, with a little support from his friend.
