Richmond Dragway gets the 2008 Points season under way!

Richmond Dragway kicked off the 2008 points series on Saturday April 12th.  There appeared to be no surprises when it came to the winners circle.  Previous top track Champion Tim Green defeated the ever tough Kenny Young to claim the 1st win of the season (pts season)  The win was ever so sweet but due to a first round loss, the actual points lead goes to Kenny Young.

The race actually took 12 hours to complete from the time the gates opened due to two rain delays and an oil down.  Track personnel did a great job taking care of the track so that the race could complete.

Craig Austin made his return to the winners circle in modified.  Austin defeated the "Total Foot Care" Chevelle driven by Larry Miller.  Like the top class, the runner up will start this season off with the points lead. Austin is sporting a new Rehr Morrison motor this season.  Sure seems to work for him.

Anthony Stanco is this weeks Jr. Dragster winner.  He seems to be a fixture in the winners circle this year.  Runner up was the son of former track champion Keith Dunkum,   Mr. Keith Dunkum JR! Congrats to both.

The street and strip winner was Jon Van Harn.  He has been the winner or runner up every week this year or so it seems.
