Bracket Race Central
Schooled by Scotty
March 31, 2010 - Richmond, VA

Scotty Richardson held his first drag racing school for Virginia area racers on March 24-25 at Richmond Dragway. Richardson holds 6 World Championships, countless series and track championships and has earned numerous wins in top and bottom bulb big dollar bracket racing. Richardson decided to offer these affordable 2 days schools all across the country to improve the abilities of the everyday "Grass Root Racer".

That brings to mind the new series that Richardson is putting together with help of many national vendors such as JEGS, Hoosier and TCI to name a few. You can get more information about that series by visiting www.grassrootsracers.com.

Listen to what some of the racers that attended had to say:

"Where do I start. I had never meet Scotty before the school in Richmond. I had heard his name a few times from racers before, but what stood out the most for me was his wins at the WFC in Bristol. When I saw he won the 2nd one I told my wife "This guy Scotty won it again" At that point I knew he had to know what he was doing, so when I saw he was doing these schools I had to get signed up."

"Now for the school it's self: For me the best part was the on track work we did. This gave us the chance to try different things we had learned in the classroom and be able to do it again if we messed up. Had we decided to have the shoot out we would not have been able to do this. I learned a lot from his school with the on track part really putting it all together for me. At this point i feel it is the best money I have spent on racing. This will be my 5th year in drag racing."

"Hats off to Scotty and Richmond Dragway”

-Wayne Mabe, Virginia Footbrake Racer

"Scotty's school was well worth every penny. No question went unanswered and no topic went uncovered. Instead of the gambler's race, we chose to do a practice format which not only helped apply what we learned to the track, but also allowed Scotty to see us make more than just a couple of runs and really pick apart what he thought we were doing right and wrong. If anybody is questioning whether to spend this money, I would highly suggest it because it was really worth the money."

-Samantha Jeter, Virginia Footbrake Racer

“Overall it was a good experience. It helped reinforce a lot of things I already thought and gave some good practice time on the track. I think it's a good class for anyone, pro or entry level, that has a open mind. Also would like to say the Richmond Dragway staff had the track in great shape, therefore racers were able to make runs and get true data on what they were doing.”

-Marty Dabney, Virginia Top ET Racer

There is a school being held at Farmington Dragway in Mocksville, NC this coming weekend, April 1-2.

Richmond Dragway will be hosting another class on May 13th and 14th. The cost is 150.00 for 1 day classroom or $300.00 for class and track instruction 2 days you can sign up by going to www.richmonddragway.com.
